An exciting new wine from trailblazing young female winemaker Krisztina Csetvei, in Hungary's smallest wine region Mor. RAWka meaning fox, referring to it's beautiful amber colour. Head trained grapes, skin contact for 7 days. This is a skin contact white wine made from 100% Ezerjo grapes. Herbal notes, nutty, candied orange. Natural, 0 sulphur, unfiltered and unfined. Organic but not certified.
Launching our first Hungarian Pet Nat from new winery Szentesi. Tongue tickling, brilliant 100% Zengo ! An unusual native grape, it's a Hungarian grape cross of Ezerjo and Bouvier, mainly grown here by Lake Velence on ancient granite hills. On the nose; melon and apricot aromas. On the palate; pear, white flowers, nectarine and fennel, with a long finish. Surprising. Very low yields and low intervention from winemaker Joszef who is mad about ancient native varieties, ask us more....
A bright, fresh white blend of 50% Kiralyleanyka a native Hungarian grape and 50% Szurkebarat also known as Pinot Gris. Notes of white flowers, peaches and a hint of spice. A very easy drinking, moorish wine. Only 11% abv. Etyeki Kuria winery has an emphasis on sustainability from using solar power to light weight bottles to reduce the carbon footprint.
Furmint is Hungary's most well known white grape variety, here from the famous volcanic Tokaj region. Winemaker Ferenc has added 10 % Harslevelu for an attractive rounded finish. Aromas of lychee, pear and white flowers. On the palate; grapefruit, whites peaches, hay and a citrus finish. A tropical note unique to this village is evident in the wines. Excellent minerality and texture from it's volcanic terroir.

Harslevelu is a Hungarian grape that is generous with great aroma and texture. A riesling nose with honeyed aromatics. Well balanced acidity, good body, and amazing taste. Punches way above it's price tag.

The new vintage Pajzos Selection single vineyard Furmint. Rich yellow colour in the glass. Furmint with a touch of Harslevelu that rounds the finish. Super expressive, red apple and spice with lime and green tea, chamomile and vanilla in the background. tropical notes that are unique to the volcanic area of Sarospatak. Savoury finish. Great texture and balanced acidity. Hand picked, aged in Hungarian oak barrels for six months.
100% Szurkebarat, Hungary's Pinot gris. From Laszlo Szeremley in the natural conservation area of the volcanic Mount Badacsony by Lake Balaton benefitting from the unique micro climate of Lake Balaton with 24 hour warmth from the lake and imposing basalt rock formations. This wine is true to the Szeremley signature, the style is bright, elegant, clean and precise. Aromas descriptive of the terroir; linden leaf, citrus, white wild flowers, acacia honey. The palate displays all the aromas with added peaches and white melon, bright, light and clean. Simply delicious.
A light and vivacious rose from a high altitude windy plateau in the Szekszard region of Southern Hungary. Light in colour, The new vintage is kekfrankos and merlot. Hand picked together and fermented together. Lively, citrus, candied fruit and strawberries. Perfect for the slightest glimmer of sunshine. Low yields so the vines can be healthy and self sustainable, low intervention from Tuske and daughter.
Black and sour cherries, marzipan, vanilla, dark chocolate and liquorice. You won't want to stop sniffing this but once you do, lavish in the same delicious aromas on the palate with tight acidity and well integrated oak flavours. Zweigelt is a notoriously difficult grape to grow, prone to disease but a labour of love for Gallay. Hand picked, super low yield, organic but not certified, aged in blended barrels for one and a half years. Just heavenly. Do not miss this as there is none from 2021 and 2022.
Introducing the new vintage of this popular, juicy, easy drinking blend. Hungarian grapes Blauburger and Menoire are teamed with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Round, full flavoured, fruity. Very user friendly, to pair with everything!
Launching the new 2019 vintage of our classic Egri Bikaver (Bulls Blood) from Korona which is surrounded by hot thermal springs and rich minerality. A unique wine, with great historic significance where against all the odds the defenders of Eger (fuelled on wine) won the battle of 1552 against 100,000 Ottoman soldiers, who pronounced the Hungarians must have been drinking Bulls Blood, they were so strong. A blend of 60% kekfrankos, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, this wine has evident minerality, peppery notes and red forest fruits. Really interesting and super versatile for pairing.
An impressive new addition, Toth Ferenc's Kekfrankos from North Hungary. Hungary's most well known red grape. A beautiful lilac colour, with a powerful nose showing ripe blackberries and sour cherries. On the palate; mellow spice, blackberry and dried plums. Great structure, medium body, a very quaffable wine. Harvested by hand, lightly crushed, 30 days maceration, aged in oak barrels for two years and then further bottle aged. Low intervention.
'a beautiful ruby red wine that shows a high density in the glass compared to the variety. On the nose it gradually unfolds, from mildly leathery scents to sweet spices and plum jam, many, many exciting aromas appear. It's delicate acid backbone, tannins and sense of alcohol give the wine a more definite character than usual.' Hand harvested and aged in Hungarian oak barrels for 18 months. A sensitive grape, it is hard to grow but is a passion for Tóth Ferenc who was honoured with the award ’Ambassador of Kadarka in Hungary’. Low intervention, low yield.
Sopron is a region in the West of Hungary famous for it's Kekfrankos. Here it has a ruby colour with violet tinges. Concentrated aromas of black currant, black cherry, liquorice and pepper. On the palate juicy black fruits as per the aroma plus prunes and juniper. Harvested by hand, carefully destemmed, manually punched down, fermented on the skins for twenty one days. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Aged for one year in Hungarian and Austrian oak barrels, 70% in 2-3year old and 30% in new barrels.
